Bees
Today the bees didn't do a whole lot. It was mostly stormy and in the sun they would try to get out. They won't work in weather under 55 degrees. There were a lot of bees out yesterday trying to get familiar with the second box.

Second Box
Hey I just added my second box to my hive yesterday. I also moved my feeder up to the top box and made sure that the feeder had sugar syrup in it. The last time I checked my feeder it was completely empty not a drop was left. For you beekeepers keep feeding until they stop taking it.

Utah Bee Hobbyist
Hello, my son and I have begun this blog to help track his adventure as beekeeper. We hope to get help and insight along the way. There does not seem to be any local blog or website to ask questions, we hope someday to be able to help other new hobbyist with questions. So Mitch enjoy the adventure!
Mitch picked up his established colony on May 17, 2011. The Pictures you see are from his second inspection on May 21, 2011. Today,May 28, 2011 we visiting Jones Bees and asked when was the time to add the second box. We were instructed that when we remove the inner cover and see the bees all gathered on top that when they cover 7-8 frames it is time. We came home and inspected the hive to find the tops completely covered so we decided to add the second box. We are still feeding the bees sugar water so we moved it up to the top box.
